To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales
The petition of the undersigned brings to the attention of the House that:
Nimbin Youth is at risk of closing without urgent operational funding.
Keep Nimbin Youth Open ๐
Nimbin Youth is more than a drop-in space. Itโs a lifeline for the young people of our village. Every week, up to 60 young people walk through our doors.
We provide (but not limited to)
- Nutritious meals and food relief
- Crisis support – ‘Youth care’
- Mentoring and encouragement to build confidence
- A safe and welcoming space
But right now, Nimbin Youth is at risk of closing without urgent operational funding. We are run entirely on love, volunteer energy and personal sacrifice and we cannot continue sustainably without broader community and government support.
Small towns matter. Our young people matter. They deserve the same opportunities, support and care as young people anywhere else in Australia. If our doors close, many of our young people in our community will be left without the support they rely on.
This is why we need your help. By signing this petition, you are sending a powerful message to decision-makers: keep Nimbin Youth open. Invest in our young people. Letโs make sure our young people have every chance to reach their full potential.
The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to:
Provide urgent and ongoing operational funding to keep Nimbin Youth open, ensuring that young people in small rural communities have access to the same opportunities and support as those in larger towns and cities.
